What Does Farm-to-Table Mean?
The farm-to-table, also known as farm-to-fork, movement emphasizes the relationship between a local farmer and a restaurant. Our farm-to-table restaurant sources the majority of our food from local farmers and ranchers.
We believe in keeping it simple. We carry organic, pasture-raised, free-range poultry and eggs as well as grass-fed beef you can be confident in. Best of all, your decision to dine with us supports local businesses and families in the Hempstead area.

Our Farm to Table Partners
44 Farms
Our grass-fed beef and steaks are provided by 44 Farms, well known throughout Texas for its dedication to superior quality meats.
Gourmet Ranch
Gourmet Ranch is a purveyor of the finest custom-cut meats. Texas born and bred in 2000, Gourmet Ranch specializes in freshly cut chicken products, custom-cut aged steaks, & freshly-ground beef. Gourmet Ranch now provides access to their “cut-above” products that top chefs have used for more than 20 years. They always ship meat fresh, never frozen. The secret is out... like we say at The Ranch, every great meal starts with great meat!
Fresh Produce: DiIorio Farms & Rise & Shine Farms
A large portion of our produce is sourced from DiIorio Farms right down the road. Many of the fresh herbs, pickling cucumbers, and peppers we use to season our food are grown and harvested fresh daily here on the Rise & Shine Farms property. We are working hard toward providing only locally grown produce.
Take the Farm Fresh Magic Home!
At Pine Island Country Store, as much as we love cooking up meals from the finest ingredients for you to enjoy, we believe wholesome food should be available to take home and prepare in your own kitchen for your family! We have the same fresh poultry and grass-fed beef available for purchase that we use to make our delicious steaks, Fried Chicken, Chicken Pot Pies, and more. We also offer home-prepared meals such as whole pans of chicken pot pies, freshly baked cakes, and more to take to your folks at home.
In addition to locally sourced meats and produce, we have locally harvested honey from the honey bees at Rise & Shine farm on hand for your brunch dishes and dinner rolls. We use what we can and offer the rest in jars for you to take home and enjoy!
